About Us
The Community Data Networking Professionals Association (CDNPA) was conceived during a time when unemployment in communities and neighborhoods was at historic high levels. After realizing that careers in IT and Data Networking were being impacted at significantly lower levels than many other areas of employment, Henry Razor enlisted other professionals with a similar desire to see our community re-invigorated; and together they set out to train community and neighborhood residents in many pertinent and in-demand disciplines within the IT and Data Networking profession. Charity In The Community (www.citcchicago.org), our sister organization, was chosen to be the vehicle through which this training would be provided. With numerous motivated individuals participating in these training programs, it became evident that a grass roots organization was needed so that individuals who completed any of these training programs would have a place to network, communicate, transfer relevant industry knowledge, share job opportunities, acquire knowledge of and remain current on new and emerging technologies, and be a part of a community IT knowledge base with the abilities to technically support local residents and community businesses, to create jobs and wealth as entrepreneurs, and to enjoy success at all levels of the IT profession. The Community Data Networking Professionals Association was established to be that grass roots organization.
In addition to participants who successfully complete IT training at Charity In The Community, membership is also available to any individual who completes IT training from a member school or nonprofit organization, as well as anyone who holds an active/current IT certification from a recognized certification body/organization. Others are encouraged to assist as supporters and sponsors.
